Day 1: Guided game drive

You've been dreaming of your Tanzanian safari for so long and the day when it begins has finally arrived. We'll greet you, give you a quick rundown on what happens next and answer your questions. Then we'll take you out to discover what this incredible country has to offer.

You’ll never forget the time you spend in the Serengeti. Perhaps it will be the sightings of leopard and cheetah as they show their skills as feared hunters of the plains and valleys. Or that unforgettable moment when an elephant family feeds alongside your vehicle, so close you could almost reach out and touch them. Or the first time you hear a lion roar. Then there are the herds of buffalo, zebra or wildebeest so large that they move as one across your horizon, like a river. All of these experiences are possible in the Serengeti, one of the most beautiful parks in Africa.

Central Serengeti National Park

Exploring the Central Serengeti means experiencing acacia trees silhouetted against a backdrop of endless savannah. The wildlife viewing here is excellent and big cats are always a possibility.

Day 2 - Deeper into the park

On day two, after your first overnight stay in the beautiful Central Serengeti luxury camp, You’ll get to know the Serengeti better today, taking in its colorful cast of characters, vistas and once in a lifetime experiences

Ndutu

Day 3 - Ndutu exploration

When you explore Ndutu, you'll feel like you're getting all that the Serengeti has to offer and more.

This is one of northern Tanzania's best-kept secrets, easily accessible from both the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, and yet nicely off the main road between these more popular destinations.

Ndutu is particularly good for wildlife when the great migration passes through, but there are plenty of animals to see here, framed against the vast horizon, at any time of the year. It's especially good for big cats, including tree-climbing lions.

Day 4 - Deeper exploration of unspoilt Ndutu

Refreshed and still in awe at your first day in Ndutu, you'll wake refreshed after your stay at Ndutu Heritage Camp,

The simple safari tents have canvas walls and floors and there are no fences between you and wildlife that roam the area; listen for them at night from the safety of your bed. Our rangers and guides are on alert and watch the whole time for your safety. This camp is also very close to the lake which attracts flamingos.

On day 4 you will immerse yourself in the wonderfully wild country of Ndutu, south of the Serengeti. It's in fabulous wildlife terrain, particularly when the great migration is passing through the area.

Ngorongoro Crater

Day 5 - The magical Ngorongoro crater

You never forget the first time you see Ngorongoro Crater from above. Looking out from the rim of this extraordinary volcanic crater is like gazing down upon a lost world of wildlife and astonishing beauty.

The drive down into the crater will be just as special, taking you down onto the crater floor where nature rules and no human being may pass the night.

You'll spend the best part of a day exploring this remarkable place, seeing its lions, hyenas, black rhinos, elephants, flamingos and so much more.

Your accommodation for the night in this magical place is the Marera Valley Lodge. Set amid ample grounds and with views out over the green highlands of northern Tanzania, the lodge feels like a luxury estate, complete with swimming pool, restaurant and bar, and nicely spaced rooms.

The rooms are large and supremely comfortable, and they offer welcome respite off the busy road that connects Lake Manyara with Ngorongoro Crater.

Tarangire National Park

Day 6

Everything seems to be cast on a grander scale in Tarangire National Park, from the giant baobab trees that bring such personality to the park's landscapes to the massive elephants for which the park is famous.

Although a popular place to visit for travelers on safari through northern Tanzania, Tarangire rarely feels crowded, and that becomes even more true the further south you go in the park.

Other wildlife to look forward to here includes big cats, zebra, hippo, buffalo, wildebeest and more. If you're really lucky, you might spy the park's transient population of African wild dog.

We finally head to your airport of destination, taking your unforgettable experiences and memories with you as you start your journey home and hopefully your desire and love for Africa and with a yearning to return again someday.
